CURE International is a nonprofit organization that provides world-class surgical care to children in 16 underserved countries around the world. Patients experience the life-changing message of God’s love for them and receive surgical treatment regardless of gender, religion, or ethnicity. Since 1996 CURE hospitals have performed more than 210,000 surgeries and CURE-trained surgeons have performed more than 14,500 procedures to treat hydrocephalus and spina bifida. They are recognized around the world for their innovation and treatment methods for small, smiling children across the globe.
Candoris has a history of partnering with CURE. This partnership has traveled full circle, as our VP of Finance & Operations, Leron Lehman, is none other than the founding Executive Director of two pediatric orthopedic CURE hospitals in the Philippines and Niger. We’re excited to announce that we’ve recently renewed collaboration efforts and have committed to help offset the cost of medical training for the next Ugandan neurosurgeon to treat children at the CURE Uganda Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Katungi is a bright young doctor from western Uganda who is in his third year of training at the Division of Neurosurgery at the revered University of Cape Town in South Africa. He has a heart for serving his people and will return to CURE Uganda in 2022 after his training is complete to perform 400-500 surgeries for babies and children every year. We look forward to sharing progress updates on his training and the work that the surgeons and staff are doing for the children in Uganda and around the world. Dr. Katungi will be corresponding with us periodically as we develop our relationship and encourage his studies and his calling.
To our team, thank you for being part of Candoris and putting your heart into your work every day. To our customers, thank you for entrusting us with advancing your future and in turn creating a partnership that can change the world. All of this is possible because of you.
